The malls civilization in Gurgaon commenced in the winters of 2003. It has been, since then, a kind of revolution. The first one to begin operation in Gurgaon was DLF City Center mall. MGF Metropolitan was still being constructed along side DLF City Center, however, DLF City Center was the first to have opened its stores to the people of Gurgaon. MGF Metropolitan started operating with Shoppers Stop and few other stores and restaurants like Mc Donald’s which became an instant hit. Sahara mall, also famous as the Brand Mall was the third one to get functional.

The list of upcoming Gurgaon malls is still mounting with more and more shopping malls reaching functionality and giving the taste of mall culture to people of New Delhi and NCR. The list of shopping malls has increased to 9 which are completely serviceable and 8 malls are being erected. Most of the malls are on Mehrauli-Gurgaon road. The subsequent area being accepted for malls is Sohna Road, where the fleet of malls are underway construction (5 in number).
